Global Education
Some "80% of teachers agree that it's more important than ever for students to learn about other countries and cultures.
Yet only 30% say they often incorporate material about other countries and cultures into their lesson plans. Nearly 6 in 10 teachers report this is due to lack of resources or administrative support , not for lack of student support." (Project Explorer, 2013) |
Bienvenidos.
I am Karen Cusolito, a National Board Certified teacher of English and journalism at the world-famous Hollywood High School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. As a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Fellow, Class of 2020, I was scheduled to do my field experience in Peru. The coronavirus pandemic changed that, but it has not changed my passion for expanding my teaching practice and inspiring my students to reach their own goals. This summer I traveled to Peru to complete my field work. The resources and strategies I've gained through this program are shared here for teachers to incorporate global education into their practice.
